PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response
The Rescue Diver Course is the first step in learning how to observe others while diving, and requires you to be a competent diver yourself with at least 20 logged dives.
The course teaches how to react in several scenarios and is a great way to fine tune your own diving. The course is 4 days long with plenty of time in the water. You will learn search techniques for locating a missing diver, how to respond to an unconscious diver both underwater and on the surface, how to respond to panicked and tired divers and how to administer first aid and oxygen for diving related injuries.
If you are not first aid qualified you will also need to complete the one day PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) first aid course. This covers general first aid and CPR and is applicable to all emergencies, not just diving related.
These are serious courses but they are also a lot of fun. The challenge of the course and the material covered makes this one of the most satisfying courses to be involved with.
With the course you receive your Rescue (and EFR) manual, Emergency Management Workslate and certifications. We provide all equipment for the duration of the course. All you need to bring is your swimsuit, towel and a whole heap of enthusiasm!
